Jobs for 54 volunteers Despite the difficult financial situation, the Government of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde managed to allocate funds to the amount of KM150.000 for financing of program called ‘Encouragement of employment of high educated unemployed persons without working experience’.
Allocation of funds for business start up Minister of veterans’ affairs in the Government of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde, Dzevad Adzem signed contracts on allocation of outright grants for encouragement of employment and self-employment of veteran population on April 28th 2009. The contract signing ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde, Nazif Uruci.
Discussions about health and social care improvement On April 28th 2009 Minister of social affairs, health, displaced persons and refugees in the Government of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde, Demir Imamovic hosted a meeting for the representatives of Associations of persons with disabilities from the area of BPC Gorazde.
On April 27th 2009 Minister of economy in the Government of BPC Gorazde, Mustafa Kurtovic met the Head of German LOT Team stationed in Gorazde, major Joachim Peterson. This was a good opportunity to discuss the current situation in Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde, especially subject matters from the competence of this Ministry.
Support to students and their teachers Students of Gorazde high school ‘Enver Pozderovic’ and their mentor, teacher Hilmo Bunjo won a second place on the international competition in Sezana where they were rewarded for their TV advertisement in the category of social scene.
Signing ceremony of cooperation strategy A new step in establishment of more successful cooperation between civil society organizations and public sector in Bosnia-Podrinje Canton Gorazde has been made by adoption and signing of the Cooperation Strategy between BPC Government and non government sector.

favorable geographical
position that extends
over eastern slopes of
Jahorina, Borovac and
Klek on 345 m height
above the sea level,
which causes mild,
continental climate,
short winters and warm
long summers. There are
three municipalities
within Bosnian-Podrinje
canton Gorazde: Gorazde,
Foca-Ustikolina and
Pale-Praca.
Before the war there was
37.505 inhabitants of
different religions
living in this area and
current number of
inhabitants of this
canton is around 42.000.
Administrative,
political, educational
and cultural center of
the canton is in Gorazde.
